DIA MUNDIAL DO TURISMO 2022 - #RETHINKTOURISM

The World Tourism Day has been celebrated on September 27th since 1980, and it emerged to highlight the importance of this sector of activity at a global level, thus promoting awareness of its social, cultural, political and economic value.

This year's theme chosen by the World Tourism Organization (WTO) is “Rethinking Tourism”. The aim is to inspire debate about the impact of tourism on the planet, and the opportunities that exist for more sustainable, inclusive and resilient growth in the future. #rethinktourism

Questions such as “Where is tourism going? Where do we want to go? How will we get there?” will be discussed at the 42nd edition of the World Tourism Day - which this year takes place in Bali, Indonesia.

The objectives established by the UNWTO for this year's celebration are:

- To provide a platform for inclusive dialogue, with the aim of identifying solutions that enable tourism to be leveraged as a vehicle for recovery and transformation.
- Strengthen the message of tourism as an inspirational and transformative force, and how the UNWTO and the entire sector can fulfill this potential.
- Mobilize political will and cooperation to ensure that tourism is a central pillar in policy making.
- Identify solutions that can realign tourism for the future.
