Dia de Reis in Loulé

Kings Day is celebrated on January 6th, a date that is accompanied by the famous “bolo-rei” and the typical chanting of the “janeiras and charolas”

In Loulé, on this day, the Giant “Bolo-Rei” is already part of the tradition. It is a cake 150 meters long, which, on a long table, occupies the Praça da República area. All citizens and tourists are invited to try this delicacy, starting at 5 pm, January 6th (Friday). There will also be music, with the group ‘Charola das Barreiras Brancas’.

This day will also be celebrated in Quarteira, with a concert “Cantares de Janeiras and Charolas”, which will take place in the Auditorium of the Municipal Centre, from 7.30 pm. The event is free and will feature several musical groups from the Algarve.
