The iconic Vilamoura Marina is undergoing expansion. The project includes the installation of three pontoons, providing 68 mooring spaces and enabling the harbor to host large vessels (ranging from 20 to 40 meters) such as luxury yachts.
Isole Correia, the administrator of Vilamoura World, states, "This new marina in Vilamoura is highly distinctive for the destination and addresses evident market needs for large vessels that currently pass along the coast." She further adds that it "arises from a constant desire to improve the services provided," aiming to deliver a superior experience to customers and further elevate the destination as an international reference. It's worth noting that the current marina was built 50 years ago.
The new pontoons will be equipped with modern and more sustainable technologies, enhancing comfort for visitors. This addition to the marina will be situated in the foreport area, the entrance to Vilamoura Marina from the sea.
This expansion has already started and the completion is expected by the end of 2024.
