June is 'Santos Populares' month!

The "Santos Populares" of Quarteira are an ancient cultural tradition that brightens the streets of the city during the month of June.

This year marks the return of the "Marchas Populares" (Popular Marches) after the pandemic, and hundreds of people are expected in the audience to watch. This is one of the largest events of its kind in the southern part of the country, captivating with the diversity of costumes presented, music, choreographies, and the joy of the local participants in Quarteira.

There are three days of celebrations - June 12th (Santo António), June 23rd (São Pedro), and June 28th (São João). The parade, featuring 7 groups, takes place at 9:00 PM at Passeio das Dunas and is supported by the Municipality of Loulé and the Parish Council of Quarteira.
