A Public Petition in defense of Local Accommodation is underway and can be consulted and signed here.
The sector is united in defense of its activity, which is threatened by recent measures announced by the Government in the context of the Mais Habitação program. The goal of the petition is to draw attention to the threat that legislative and fiscal instability poses to the Local Accommodation sector, jeopardizing the future of thousands of businesses and employees who work directly or indirectly in this activity.
The petition is divided into four parts:
I. Summary of changes to RJEEAL (Legal Regime for the Operation of Local Accommodation Establishments) resulting from the Government's Proposed Law;
II. Clarification about the reality of Local Accommodation and its holders, its economic and social importance, and also the related activities that make up this ecosystem;
III. Negative consequences that will result for Local Accommodation if the proposed changes are approved by the Assembly of the Republic;
IV. Presentation of the petitioners' proposals.
