WORLD MARINAS CONFERENCE ‘23

From October 9th to 11th, Vilamoura will host the world's largest gathering of the nautical industry, the World Marinas Conference of the International Council of Marine Industry (ICOMIA). This year's edition, themed "Big Challenges - Big Decisions," will bring together approximately 400 participants, including key operators, owners, and managers of marinas worldwide, representatives from government agencies, consultants, and other entities related to the sector. This marks the first time our country hosts this event, with the last edition taking place in Dubai in 2021.

The opening session will feature the presence of the Minister of Agriculture and Food, Maria do Céu Antunes, the Secretary of State for Fisheries, Teresa Coelho, and the Mayor of Loulé, Vítor Aleixo.

Several reflection sessions, led by experts from various nationalities, will take place to discuss various issues, shedding light on challenges, trends, and best practices in the nautical sector.

On the second day of the conference, participants are expected to visit, in addition to Vilamoura, some of the main marinas in the southern part of the country, including Albufeira and Lagos. This will also provide an opportunity for them to explore our coastline and the excellent infrastructure and facilities that enable recreational boating year-round.

This event will facilitate networking among participants, offering them the chance to connect with leading professionals in the industry. The 2023 edition at Vilamoura Marina includes an exhibition showcasing the latest products and services specifically designed for marinas.
